Confirmation Doorway

Aims & Objectives

The aim of the project was to involve both students and their parents in creating a doorway, which symbolised the 7 gifts of confirmation. It was hoped that the process would significantly include the parents and allow them to work within the school for the 6 weeks.

After the 6th class students worked on images during their art lessons, which were inspired by the 7 holy acts of the Confirmation, the images were collected and elements from each work of art was taken to create 7 symbols which were then transferred onto the doorway. The project started last Thursday 7th of April and thanks to the parents of the students, we made great headway in the carving out of the doorway.  We’ve made a great start and once the doorway was carved out, the students came back to paint and further enhance their doorway in time for their Confirmation.
